Options are something that ECCB Outdoor seems to pride themselves on from what I’ve seen. They have an impressive color range but they also have an option that comes with a footrest that you can find on amazon here. Adding a footrest to one of these chairs is the best thing you can do if you want to increase the comfort even further! .
After settling on a design, he hired a local Westport Carpenter named Harry Bunnell to make a set of the chairs. Impressed by the design, Bunnell saw the commercial potential and began selling the chairs to Westport’s other visitors. Unfortunately, he… forgot… to ask Thomas Lee’s permission to sell the chairs. Bunnell filed for a patent on the design, and received one in 1905, despite not actually designing the chair. Bunnell sold the “Westport chairs”, made of Hemlock, for the next 20 years. Typically he would paint them green or brown, and he sold them directly to buyers.
This Adirondack is not cheap, but it is also not the most expensive option on the market. In particular, I'd say this chair provides a lot of value for the consumer's dime only reason it's so cheap is because it's manufactured in China, while many rivals make lower-quality chairs in the US and are forced to charge more. In general, this is a fantastic-looking, well-designed, and comfortable chair that will go with just about any patio or outdoor aesthetic!
The first Adirondack chair was designed in 1903 by a man named Thomas Lee, while he was on vacation in the Adirondack mountains in New York state. Typically they were made from 11 flat, wooden boards, and the final product would include a flat backrest, as well. Now, the back is often (but not always) rounded, but the original spirit of the Adirondack lives strongly in these innovations, and in many other chairs that are based closely on its design.
To cap it off, these chairs are guaranteed under with a 20-year warranty, which always nice. Being an outdoor piece of furniture does require them to have a good amount of weatherproofing since they take the brunt of the elements. This is why this Polywood Adirondack chair really stands out for me and what makes it an easy recommendation in my opinion.
This one is made from #3 construction grade spruce. The grain is so loose, it has been extensively filled with putty fillers. It has so many knots it could be accurately described as polka dotted. When I found this product I was very excited to see an Adirondack chair for less than $100. I didn't notice any glaring reviews so I went a head with the purchase. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this product. You will be putting the entire chair together. If you are handy build one yourself. If you are not handy purchase a better product. The chair needs to be stained and the wood is of poor quality. There a several cracks filled with wood putty and one significant crack on the bottom back rest cross beam. This spot bears most of the weight leaving me to believe the chair will not last very long. 3.0 out of 5 stars Would pay more for better quality. I totally agree and am really practical as well with tile selection and thinking of how much grout to clean.

Perfect for pulling up to a fire, or for hanging out poolside, this stylish resin Adirondack chair adds a classic look to your outdoor space. Made in the USA, it's crafted from recycled high-density plastic and features clean lines and an open, slatted back. Pine: While pine takes more maintenance than teak, it is far more affordable. This light wood slowly fades to an attractive gray. As a softwood, it’s more susceptible to dings, scratches, and, unfortunately, bugs. You’ll need to refinish it every year or two to keep the wood looking its best and to help protect it from the weather. But if upkeep doesn’t worry you and you’re on a tight budget, pine is an excellent choice.
