To begin with, it will determine how long the seat is going to last generally. Second, it will permit you to sort out how agreeable it is. Finally, the correct material will be lightweight and portable enough to where you can take it with you any place you go.

Keep in mind, if you choose a painted chair, you may have to scrape it down and refinish it in a couple of years. With the untreated, natural chairs, the wood will gray, and the wood grain may rise up. If you want to keep the wood smooth, you’ll have to sand down the rough areas periodically over the life of the chair.
The other thing to consider is the type of screw the chair uses. Look for a stainless steel screw so that they won’t rust when exposed to moisture in the air.

Gorilla Glue doesn't work. We have about 10 of these chairs with tables at our Lake house and they all eventually split, crack, etc. I tried every thing including Gorilla, Crazy, and any other glue, duct tape, etc. I now put a towel over chair to cover cracked part and "Forget about it". My husband saw the chairs for $12. at a local hardware store up at the lake house so when the towels wear out we will just spring for the new chair. Good luck and let me know if you have had any success with your repair efforts,
If you’re looking for something that has a larger capacity, you can find them it will just take a bit of work (or make it easy on yourself and read my reviews above!). There are some chairs out there that have a max capacity of 500lbs but you might lose some comfort when you need more durability.
At the point when you think of the best evaluated Adirondack chairs, you most likely expect that wood is the best material around. Notwithstanding, the issue with it is that wood breaks, splinters, and corrupts over the long haul. This implies that you need to spend each season treating and staining the material so it will last one more year without rotting or falling separated.
The seat height is another important feature to look at in terms of comfort level. This height should be high enough to support your legs and knees while still allowing your feet to touch the ground. If it is too high, your legs will dangle, putting too much pressure on the backs of your knees, which can get uncomfortable after a while. If it is too short, your legs won’t be touching the chair with your knees bent, losing that support. Of course, in this situation, you can extend your legs to get more comfortable, but this may make it harder to get up since you’ll need to use the arms for leverage instead of the seat to get yourself out of the chair.
