I’m a bit shocked that you’re so free with your travel story as BC is asking us to stay home right now and not to travel for recreational purposes. I’m guessing you went somewhere close to home so you didn’t need to leave your health authority? I’ve enjoyed your blog for a very long time but this has put me off. I’ll be unsubscribing.
The assembly should be easy, with minimal tools required to put the chair together on your own. There should also be a decent warranty to cover any issues like missing or damaged pieces. .
I cannot settle comfortably in (expensive, no doubt) lodgings that are ill-lit and poorly planned so thank you for the tips you offer for making things feel more homey.

Main reason why Adirondack chairs are so expensive is because most of these chairs are made up of more expensive and/or rare woods, such as teak and cedar. Teak, which is considered the best material for outdoor furniture, is resistant to decay, insects, rot, and in general can weather the elements.

While you’re thinking about it, here’s how I arranged the furniture once we checked in.
In all fairness to the home decorator, when you go out to source furniture off-the-shelf, the furniture that sells the easiest is usually some kind of “neutral.” It’s likely the reason so many of you have a neutral sofa.
Not only is this chair built to last for years, but it is also a model you can use at home as well as on the road. It folds flat, making it easy to store in a trunk, the box of a truck, or in a camper during travel. This allows you to take your chair almost anywhere you go.
It is also extremely comfortable; there is a convenient and comfortable ottoman built into the chair, which will make lounging and relaxing luxuriously much more possible. The footrest can also retract, but it is so comfortable that it is very doubtful that you would end up retracting that feature. This particular eucalyptus hardwood can be maintained to remain healthy by using hardwood oil, which must be purchased separately, but will help retain the value of the chair for years to come. “Beautiful and really comfortable”. Poly resin Adirondack chairs have become more and more common over the last few years, and are slowly taking over the Adirondack chair market. The feature set is so strong: maintenance free, color-through material, recycled, eco-friendly structure, and often long warranties make these units very compelling. After much time spent analyzing the Adirondack chair market, we have determined that the best poly resin Adirondack chairs are the Polywood Classic folding Adirondack chairs [Amazon Link] [Wayfair Link].
Commonly used in building materials as porch and deck flooring, poly resin (CPVC) is a mixture of recycled wood pulp and resin. This material is environmentally friendly and basically indestructible. Color is blended through the material as part of the material creation process, so there is no risk of the color scraping off or anything. The material is designed to be out in virtually all weather and largely can handle snow without difficulty (we still recommend covering poly resin chairs in winter, though).
After scouring through hundreds of adirondack chairs, the models listed below scored the best in terms of seat height, depth, and overall height. Unless you can physically try the chairs out in a store, I’ve found these options to be the best for the taller person.
While being on vacation in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State in 1903, Thomas Lee constructed the first Adirondack chair. They were usually made of 11 flat wooden boards, with a flat back as well. The back is now mostly (but not always) rounded, but the Adirondack's original spirit lives on in these innovations and many other chairs based on its style.
It’s typical to see Adirondack chairs in wood however for more weatherproof material you might want to choose plastic. That doesn’t mean it shouldn’t look good. This chair has a faux wood look while being made of plastic.
I have accepted that I am a person who buys cheap lawn umbrellas every season for $25-$35, because I WILL leave them out during a storm. And the expensive ones don't hold up any better when they blow sideways.
